Investors have been urged to explore opportunities in Anambra emerging smart state economy to build their businesses.

 

Speaking in Awka, the National Chairman of Willie Obiano Support Group, Chief Jude Emecheta commended Governor Willie Obiano for his resilience and commitment towards putting the state on global map.

Chief Emecheta noted that the present administration has put in place necessary infrastructure, policy framework and modalities to promote ease of doing business that would enable investors effectively harness abundant human and material resources in the state to break new grounds with skilled and well equipped manpower.

 

He noted that the present administration has not only exposed youths to political administration but also trained and equipped them with digital entrepreneurship knowledge and skills to meet the demands of the twenty first century as well as compete favourably with their counterparts across the globe which investors could harness to set up high-tech companies to increase productivity.

 

According to Chief Emecheta, with the transformation and expansion of the state agricultural sector and available huge arable land, there are increasing opportunity for mechanized agriculture and establishment of agro-allied industries for processing and packaging of goods, using raw materials from the various farm produce to increase production of consumer products of international standards that would strengthen the state export capacity as well as stimulate further economic growth and service delivery.

 

He urged the political class not to corrupt the system with money as the era of money politics is gone, noting that the people are now politically enlightened and could make decisions without inducement, pointing out the resources often used to try to manipulate the process could be used to set up cottage industries to assist government tackle challenge of unemployment.

 

Also speaking, a small scale industrialist, Chief Kevin Onyema noted that the International Cargo and Passenger Airport project at Umueri, when completed would facilitate effective harnessing of the state oil and gas sector with multiplier effects.
