The people of Igboukwu in Aguata Local Government Area have organized a-one-day inter-denominational prayer rally to seek God’s intervention in the myriads of problems facing the Community.
The inter-denominational prayer rally, the first of its kind, which had the theme” Peace be Still”, was held at Saint Paul’s Central School Field and attracted the Regent of the community, clergymen from various Churches, as well as sons and daughters of the community, amongst others.
Correspondent, Blessing Uchendu reports that the solemn assembly also tagged “Ekpere Maka Igboukwu” was aimed at seeking the face of God amidst series of challenges facing the community and breaking all forms of spiritual barriers against the community.
Leading the prayer session, a guest Minister from Rivers State, Most Reverend Elkanah Hason, said that having come together with humility to seek the face of God, God will break every spiritual obstacle holding the community back and restore Igboukwu to the land of God’s promises.
The Regent of Igboukwu Community, Chief Michael Nduka, said that the community took a bold step by seeking the face of the Lord, adding that it pays to serve God.
Chief Nduka pointed out that some of the developed countries are successful because they made God the foundation of all things and prayed for peace and progress of the Community.
On his part, the President-General of Igboukwu Development Union, IDU, Sir Chris Ike, who noted that it was the first time of such event, called for sustained togetherness, unity and love amongst the people of Igboukwu Community.
In their separate speeches, the Chairman Igboukwu Development Union Spiritual Life Committee, Chief Okey Eze and the Chairman, Organizing Committee of the Solemn Assembly, Sir Paul Egwuonwu, said that the prayer rally was initiated for total liberation of the community, praying that the community will henceforth witness tremendous grace and progress.
Special prayer session for breaking of curses, overseen by the Regent, the President-General, Umuada Igboukwu and youth leaders, was led by the visiting Minister of God.
