Mother’s Day is the special time of the year when you get to celebrate your first best friend and the person you always turn to when you need advice. Mother’s Day is also a great time to show your love for all the other wonderful women in your life
According to William Makepeace, Mother is the name for God in the lips and hearts of little children. Mother is the most beautiful word on the lips of mankind. No doubt, a mother is always the beginning; she is how things begin. She understands what a child does not say. A mother is a walking miracle. Your mother is your first friend, your best friend, your forever friend. The world needs our mothers. When you are looking at your mother, you are looking at the purest love you will ever know.
To describe my mother would be to write about a hurricane in its perfect power. All that I am, or ever hope to be, I owe to my mother. My mother was my role model before I even knew what that word was. If love is as sweet as flower, then my mother is that sweet flower of love.
A mother is the heartbeat in the home, and without her, there seems to be no heartthrob. Mothers are like glue. Even when you cannot see them, they are still holding the family together. Her hug lasts long after she lets go. There is no role in life that is more essential than that of motherhood.
Motherhood is the exquisite inconvenience of being another person’s everything. We are born of love, love is our mother. A mother’s arms are more comforting than anyone else’s. Her arms are made of tenderness and children sleep soundly in them.
A mother is the one whom fills your heart in the first place. She is the one to whom you hurry when you are troubled. Her love is more beautiful than any fresh flower.
Most mothers are strong women. A strong woman is one who feels deeply and loves fiercely. Her tears flow as abundantly as her laughter. A strong woman is both soft and powerful; she is both practical and spiritual. A strong woman loves, cares, forgives, walks away, lets go, tries again, and perseveres… no matter what life holds for her.
As we celebrate mothers, let us toe the path of many celebrated mothers like Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus, who exhibited exemplary motherhood when things were juicy and during hardship. Mother Theresa is another woman imbued with the virtue of charity, just as Mama Anambra, Chief Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano, whom the milk of human kindness flows in her blood.
As at the last count, Osodieme built and equipped 28 new bungalows with borehole and donated to widows in Anambra state. She has continued to meet the most pressing needs of the vulnerable and disadvantaged citizens of the state. Dr. Mrs. Obiano Osodieme has transformed the lives of rural women, orphaned children, the down trodden, less privileged, inmates of correctional centers and persons living with disabilities.
Mama Anambra facilitated the empowerment of over 6,000 indigent women and youths via skills acquisition and trainings. She also provided start-up grants as working capital and procured equipment in various ventures like hair dressing, beauty therapy, fashion design, confectionery as well as community health services. She acquired and distributed over 3,000 prosthetic limbs and wheel chairs to physically challenged persons, irrespective of gender, religion and political inclination. No doubt, Dr. Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano, Osodieme, is an epitome of a virtuous mother who should be looked up to.
Our moms are our super heroines and biggest supporters, but we usually do not tell them enough how much they are appreciated. On this special day, tell your mom how much she means to you. Send her gifts, messages. Love her, cherish her, adore her and take care of your mom. Happy Mother’s Sunday.
