Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr Vincent Okpala has hailed the State Government’s continued partnership with the European Union and World Health Organisation, EU/WHO, in healthcare matters.

Dr Okpala made the  commendation at the conclusion of a five-day 2021M&E and Annual Operational Plan, AOP, workshop in Awka.

He noted that the partnership with the EU/WHO had improved significantly the performance of health workers as regards service delivery in healthcare facilities in the state.

The five-day workshop was tagged, Anambra State 2021Sector Annual Operational Plan Development Workshop with the objective of strengthening the Anambra State Health System for Primary Healthcare Delivery.

The training also aimed to help improve the contributions of Programme managers, Coordinators, Monitoring and Evaluation Officers for optimal services to Ndi Anambra accessing care.

Dr Okpala explained that Programme Managers, Coordinators and Unit Heads came together to learn  about certain aspects of Monitoring and Evaluation.

The Commissioner applauded Governor Willie Obiano for creating a conducive and enabling environment that made it possible for the continued partnership and also commended other partners.

He thanked the facilitators, participants for their interest and dedication during the exercise.

In attendance were Dr Chukwumuanya Igboekwu, State Coordinator WHO, Mr Ndubuisi Oji, EU Project Coordinator for Health System Strengthening, Mr Linus Nwankwo, Permanent Secretary and Mrs Edith Nwachukwu Head Planning, Research and Statistics.
