The Anambra State Police Command said the suspect linked to the death of the Late Mr Ebele Nwaogha, a 28 years old Commercial motorcyclist from Ngo village, Igboukwu, in Aguata Local Government Area, is still in Police custody, and undergoing internal disciplinary procedure of the Force.

The late Nwaogha was killed at Akuka junction, Nkwo Igboukwu on fifteenth December, last year.

A statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, is coming against the backdrop of reports in some sections of the media, alleging that the suspect has been discharged and freed.

Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Monday Bala Kuryas, who explained that the outcome of investigations into the matter will be made public in due course, described the reports as untrue, malicious and handiwork of persons hell-bent on misinforming and misleading the general public, in order to cause mischief and incite the public against the Police.

Mr. Kuryas, who warned originators and peddlers of the unfounded reports to desist forthwith, as they will not be spared if apprehended, urged the public to disregard the reports, assuring that justice will be served on the matter.
