Government of Anambra state has condemned the attack by unknown assailants at Awkuzu on Monday this week.
Governor Willie Obiano who stated this during a statewide broadcast at Aguleri, Anambra East Council Area, commiserated with the grieving families.
Government House Correspondent, Ejike Abana reports that  according to the Governor, the curfew which was imposed  immediately  on  Awkuzu,  Igbariam, Nteje, Umunya,  Umueri and Aguleri communities, was aimed  at curtailing the security challenges in those areas in particular and the state at large.
Governor Obiano appealed to ndi Anambra to be calm and go about their businesses without fear, assuring that the criminals will be brought to justice.
While appreciating ndi Anambra for their continued support, the Governor urged those in the affected communities to comply with the new directive, assuring that the challenges will be surmounted very soon.
Security Commanders in the state as well as some Anambra state executive Council members were present at the broadcast.
Recall that there was clash in the early morning of Monday, April 26, 2021 between some people in Uzo Nkwo, Awkuzu, in Oyi Local Government Area,  where some people were killed and some others maimed, as both sides recorded casualties.
However, security agents quickly moved to the scene and took control of the situation.
