Anambra East Council of Traditional Rulers has condemned in its totality the various social media attacks, insults on the governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano.

The condemnation, contained in a seven point communiqué issued at the end of its meeting, held at Anambra East Local Government Council Headquarters Otuocha, was done under strict compliance with all COVID-19 prevention protocols.

The communiqué unanimously signed by the traditional rulers of the six communities that make up the council area, congratulated Governor Obiano on the successful completion of the Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport at Umueri as well as other projects within the council area.

They also endorsed the curfew imposed by the governor on Igbariam, Aguleri, Umueri, Nteje, Awkwuzu and Umunya communities aimed at steaming the tide of insecurity, begging the indigenes to obey the curfew.

While promising to come up with lasting solutions that will nip in the bud, boundary demarcation between Aguleri and Umueri communities, the traditional rulers asked the vigilante to assist the Police in enforcing the curfew, advising the inhabitance to be clam and ensure adequate compliance.

They however asked Governor Obiano not to be distracted by the challenges but be more focused with the good works he is doing as history will be the only judge at the end of his tenure even as they called on security agencies to be on red alert to arrest and prosecute anybody found fermenting trouble within the two communities.
