The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor has re-emphasized the need for fathers to lead their families in honesty and integrity.
He spoke during his pastoral visit to Saint Simon’s parish Ukpo in Dunukofia Local Government Area.
The Bishop who identified with members of the Catholic Men’s Organization of the Parish during the Fathers Sunday which was celebrated yesterday, asked Fathers to pay attention to their dealings with one another, as their journey in the world is measured by their representation of Christ.
The Catholic Prelate revealed that the Mass highlights the role of men both in the society and in the family and enjoined them to put more interest and dedication towards the building of their individual homes and society.
In an interview shortly after the mass, the Anambra State Commissioner for Works Mr. Marcel Ifejiofor asked Christian fathers to live up to their status not just in giving directives but in prayers and as role models through their lifestyle.
Mr Ifejiofor said that fathers should be accorded more celebration in order to acknowledge their tireless efforts both in family and society.
