Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, and former Senator for Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Victor Umeh has hosted former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, and a frontline gubernatorial aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Professor Charles Soludo at his country home at Aguluzigbo, Anaocha Local Government Area.
Senator Umeh also encouraged Professor Soludo in his political aspirations.
Correspondent, Valentine Mbadugha reports that while speaking at the event, Senator Umeh described Professor Soludo as an experienced expert, who has a lot to offer going by his remarkable contributions in rebuilding Nigeria economy.
He further harped on the need for APGA to unite and form a common front for the interest of the party, the state and Ndigbo in general.
Senator Umeh noted that with the test run of flights at the Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport, Umueri, which he described as the seal of Governor Obiano’s great achievements, Anambra needs a man with capacity to consolidate and take it to greater heights.
Responding, Professor Soludo while thanking Senator Umeh and other guests for their encouragement, pleaded for the support of all APGA stakeholders to protect the future of the state.
He identified APGA as the only platform Ndigbo can negotiate for stronger national presence.
Some of the federal and state lawmakers, including the Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uchenna Okafor, member representing Anaocha, Njikoka and Dunukofia Federal Constituency, Honourable Dozie Nwankwo, immediate past representative of Idemili North and South Federal Constituency, Honourable Ifeanyi Ibezi harped on the need for APGA to retain the seat of power in Anambra state.
Dignitaries that graced the declaration were the Secretary to the state Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, Chief of Staff to Governor Obiano, Chief Primus Odili, Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Barrister Ifeatu Obi-Okoye, MD/CEO of Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Chief Dr. Uche Nworah, APGA BOT members, Transition Committee Chairmen, traditional rulers and other federal and state law makers.
Some of the conveners of different support groups including, Chief Jude Emecheta of Anambra Demand Soludo, Dr. Nelson Omenugha of the Youth Earnestly Seek Soludo, and Chief Innocent Chikezie of the Ochendo for Soludo Vanguard were also present.
