Members of the political class have been urged to maintain maturity and high sense of responsibility ahead of the November Governorship election in Anambra state.
Speaking in Awka, the Vice President of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide Chief Damian Okeke Ogene, said the state is not known for politics of rancour and bitterness.

Chief Okeke Ogene said the political class should focus on issue based campaign while the interest of the state and its future should be placed above every other consideration, adding that winning elections should not be a do or die affair.
He reminded the political parties of the importance of upholding the zoning arrangement in electing their flag bearers during their primaries, by ensuring that their candidates emerge from Anambra South Senatorial District and explained that so far, the zoning formular affirmed by all stakeholders has reduced cost of electioneering campaign, given all parts of the state a sense of belonging and advanced the growth and development of Democracy which other states are now trying to emulate.
Chief Okeke Ogene commended Governor Obiano for fulfilling the promises he made to Ndi Anambra and extolled him for accelerating the actualization of the International Cargo and Passengers airport project at Umueri, which he noted would transform socioeconomic status of the state.
Also speaking, a community leader, Chief Ikenna Onyekwere called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to commence early preparations for the governorship election to ensure hitch free exercise and urged political parties to sensitize their members on proper conduct before, during and after the election.
