The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Dr. Paulinus Ezeokafor has thrown his weight behind Southern Governors on recent measures taken to stem the tide of insecurity in the regions.
Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, among seventeen Southern Governors recently met in Asaba, Delta State capital, where they took far-reaching decisions to contain issues fueling insecurity in the regions, including ban on open grazing.
Speaking at a Eucharistic celebration in Ifitedunu, Dunukofia Council Area, Bishop Ezeokafor, who stated that the decisions and measures were long overdue, called for their full and speedy implementation.
He commended Governor Obiano for his practical solutions to security challenges in the State, urging him not to relent.
While calling on the Federal Government to show commitment in addressing insecurity and others issues impeding Nigeria development as the giant of Africa, Bishop Ezeokafor reminded those reaping from the present situation that one Nigeria must not be at all cost.
