The Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Achebe has pledged his total commitment to building and supporting the youths of his community to achieve their full potential.
Speaking while receiving members of the Onitsha Youth Council who came to felicitate with him on his eightieth birthday celebration and nineteen years on the throne, Igwe Achebe expressed confidence and belief in the youths as critical catalysts for both community and national development.
The Monarch appreciated the youths for their kind gesture, and encouraged them to remain positive and creative as front liners in the society.
While wishing the royal father long life and wisdom, the President, Onitsha Ado Youth Council and Transition Committee Chairman of Onitsha North Council Area, Mr Patrick Agha-Mba, described Igwe Achebe as a global figure, whose human capital development acumen and empowerment initiative have impacted on the lives of the youths, thanking him for giving a sense of belonging, direction and keeping faith with the youths.
Correspondent, Odinaka Nwolisa reports that cutting of birthday cake by the Royal father and singing of birthday song by the youths featured at the event.
