Anambra State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has arrested, investigated and charged to court over thirty-five persons, for various drug offences in the past four months.
The Assistant Commandant General, Mr. Mohammed Idris, who disclosed this while speaking with our correspondent, Njideka Okoye on the commitment of the command to achieving drug free society said they counsel and rehabilitate drug affected persons at their rehabilitation center at Onitsha, where they learn skills.
Mr. Idris identified brain and organs damages as some of the major dangers of drug abuse even as he said that it can also prevent one from achieving his or her ambition.
He commended Governor Willie Obiano for his support to the agency, which he said has enhanced their performance as well as other feats the governor has achieved in the state especially the Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport which according to him has upgraded the status of Anambra State.
Mr. Idris charged parents to protect the destiny of their children by training and taking them through the right part.
He advised students to be proactive over those factors that can mar their future.
