Captains of Industry have been encouraged to key into the renewable power energy generation initiative as an alternative for the epileptic power supply in Nigeria.
The Deputy Governor of Anambra State Dr Nkem Okeke gave the advice during the inspection of site for the Awada Industry Owners Association’s proposed plastic industry in Oba International Market Idemili South Local Government Area, where the association has agreed to key into the renewable power initiative on completion of the project.
Government House Correspondent, Emmanuel Okonkwo reports that the Deputy Governor who described power as key to sustainable Industrialization said that welcoming the renewable energy initiative will help industries in the State in no small measure to be more productive.
He explained that the Obiano government through the office of the Deputy Governor is doing everything possible to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the State in favour of industrialists and the entire Ndi Anambra, even as he encouraged youths in the area to maximally support the company as it will provide a lot of employment opportunities for them on completion. Earlier in a remark, the Chairman Awada Industry Owners Association, Mr Ernest Ikebuaso who regretted that foreign goods are sometimes cheaper than locally made goods because of power related issues, explained that they decided to key into the state government’s idea of renewable power supply, to be able to increase their productivity and as well compete favourably with foreign goods.
In his speech, a renewable power energy generation consultant, Dr Chukwueloka Umeh enlightened the group on benefits of the renewable power energy, and assured them that they will not regret subscribing to the initiative.
