The Executive Secretary Anambra State Primary Health Care Development Agency Dr Chioma Ezenyimulu says over Thirty thousand Ndi Anambra have so far been vaccinated against COVID-19.
She made this known while featuring in the latest edition of ABS Radio Programme Tonimas half hour in Awka.
Dr Ezenyimulu, while commending Governor Willie Obiano for his support to the agency called on Ndi Anambra to make themselves available for the vaccination saying that the first stage of the exercise will end on twenty-fourth May 2021.
The Executive Secretary of Anambra State Primary Health Care Development Agency, who disclosed that Anambra State received seventy-eight thousand doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, maintained that the State has various locations for the vaccination exercise in all the twenty-one Local Government Areas of the State.
According to Dr Ezenyimulu COVID-19 vaccine, has no side effect saying that they are taking the vaccination to Markets, companies and other facilities as part of measures to check the spread of the virus.
She commended the Anambra Broadcasting Service for its series of campaigns on the need for the people to protect themselves against COVID-19 pandemic saying that the second wave of the pandemic is more deadly.
Another guest on the programme who is also the Public education officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Anambra State, Mrs Florence Edoh who also spoke on the need for the people especially Motorists to always obey all the COVID-19 protocols including compulsory wearing of face masks and washing of hands regularly with soap under clean running water, said that Federal Road Safety Corps is working in synergy with Primary Health Care Development Agency in checking the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
Mrs Edoh who also spoke on the United Nations global week on Road Safety cautioned Motorists against over speeding and dangerous overtaking which she noted are the major causes of road crashes.
