The leadership and some members of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria, AGN, have lauded the quality of work at the Anambra International Cargo/Passenger Airport, Umueri.

AGN applauded the work through its National President, Mr. Emeka Rollas, when they accompanied Governor Willie Obiano on his routine inspection visit to the airport.

Government House Correspondent, Ejike Abana reports that Mr. Rollas, who described the project as massive expressed happiness at the speed with which it is being executed, stressing that it shows the serious mindedness of the governor.

While disclosing that they had double narrative about the project before their visit, Mr. Rollas assured that as Onye Anambra, they will influence perception about the project and help showcase it to the world.

Addressing his visitors at Aguleri shortly after the inspection, Governor Obiano, who stressed that the project is being financed without borrowing funds, urged the association to project the correct virtues and values in their movies.

While calling on them to be mindful of people that pirate their movies, the governor urged the actors and actresses to promote Igbo Language in their movies, appreciating them for their good job.

The event offered opportunity for Nsukka Journalist Foundation to present an award to the governor for appointing one of them, Mr. James Eze into his cabinet.

Also speaking, the President of All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools, Anambra State Branch, Mr. Joe-Vita Arazu, who also accompanied the governor on the inspection tour, asked him not to relent, especially in his efforts in the education sector.

In a vote of thanks, Igwe Rowland Odegbo of Nteje, recounted  some achievements of Governor Obiano.

The wife of the Governor, Dr. Ebelechukwu Obiano, Commissioner for Works, Engineer Marcel Ifejiofor and the traditional ruler of Umueri, Igwe Ben Emeka among others were also part of the inspection team.

Presentation of plaque to the governor was the highpoint of the tour.
