Governor Willie Obiano administration’s policies in agriculture have been described as revolutionary and if sustained and maximized, have the capacity to solve the food needs of Nigeria in less than five years.
The President and Chief Executive officer of Coscharis Group of Companies, Dr. Cosmas Maduka made the description at a public ceremony at Nnewi.
David Okpokwasili reports that Dr. Maduka affirmed that the state government has shown great support for farmers in the state, which he noted has encouraged more investors in the area of Agriculture.
He cited the rice farming revolution in the state especially at Anaku, Igbariam and communities in Ogbaru and Orumba council areas as great examples of how government can drive change and development in any sector.
Dr. Maduka said it is no longer time to give excuses that there is no job as there are numerous opportunities available in agricultural value chain.
He urged young people to organize themselves into cooperatives as the easiest way to access funds and tap from opportunities available in the agricultural sector.
