The Anglican Bishop of Ogbaru Diocese, Right Reverend Prosper Amah has called on the Federal government to collaborate with State governments in addressing the immediate challenges of border porosity.
Presenting his charge during the third session of the fifth synod of the Diocese at Saint James Anglican Church Iyiowa Odekpe, Bishop Amah called for concerted efforts in recruiting, training and posting adequately equipped customs and immigration personnel to border areas to boost surveillance and stem the tide of free flow of arms into the Country.
Right Reverend Amah, stressed the need for the sustenance of the ongoing Military response through strategic co-ordination with the counter terrorism unit of the Nigeria Police.
The Ogbaru Diocesan Bishop advocated prioritization of law enforcement solutions to tackle rising insecurity in the Country, describing Community policing as critical to intelligent gathering, identification and tackling the cells of criminal groups in the Country and aiding community response to insecurity.
Bishop Amah who canvassed for the restructuring of the Nigerian-Nation, called on the government to seek ways of ensuring qualitative education for the children to secure a bright future for them in addition to improving the economy.
He appealed to the Federal government to dredge the River Niger to save the people of the riverine areas of the State including Ogbaru from incessant flooding whenever it rains.
On the forthcoming Anambra State governorship election Right Reverend Amah called on Christians to mobilize prayers for divine intervention in addition to obtaining their permanent voter cards, as well as registering with political parties in order to take active part in elections.
Speaking on the theme of the synod, soul wining the heartbeat of God, Bishop Amah called on Christians to always engage in those acts capable of winning souls for Christ.
