Anambra state government has suspended all Town Union and Igweship elections and matters arising therefrom in Anambra state till further notice.

 

A release signed by the Anambra state commissioner for Local Government Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Mr Greg Obi, states that the suspension is with immediate effect.

 

According to the release, this decision by government is in line with the practice over the years to effect such suspension before major elections.

 

He advised them to be guided accordingly and ensure strict compliance.
