The Anglican Bishop of Ogbaru Diocese Right Reverend Prosper Amah has charged Christian fathers to always make themselves available in God’s work.
In a sermon at Saint Luke’s Parish Okpoko under Okpoko Archdeaconry during a service of confirmation and admission into women’s and Girls Guild, Christian Men and Anglican Boys fellowship, Bishop Amah maintained that God only uses those that are available in His Ministry.
He regretted that many Christian fathers are living below expectations in both the family and society and called on them to brace for challenges associated with fatherhood.
Bishop Amah described child upbringing as a collective responsibility between husband and wife and cautioned parents against making uncomplimentary remarks before their children.
Speaking on the theme, Soul Winning, Bishop Amah reminded Christians of the need to always embark on those programmes capable of winning souls for Christ.
He stressed the need for Christians to always maintain their dignity as the salt and light of the earth.
The Ogbaru Diocesan Bishop warmed youths especially members of the Anglican Boys fellowship against drug abuse and addict, reminding them of the need to avoid acts capable of marrying their future.
In a remark, the Archdeacon of Okpoko Archdeaconry Venerable Ken-Paul Emoka who thanked Bishop Amah for the visit urged Christians to always use their individual talents in working out their salvation.
The President of the Women’s Ministry in Ogbaru Diocese, Dr Uche Amah was among those that attended the service which also featured special prayer for families in distress and for the smooth conduct of the November sixth governorship election in Anambra State.
