Persons with Disability have been asked to join the ongoing voter registration exercise to enable them to participate actively on the November sixth Anambra governorship election and subsequent elections.

The Special Adviser to Governor Obiano on Disability Matters, Barrister Chuks Ezewuzie made the call in Awka while speaking on the negative impacts of voter apathy.

Correspondent Valentine Mbadugha reports that while encouraging the active participation of Persons with Disability in the electoral process, Barrister Ezewuzie made it clear that being part of the electoral process is the civic right and responsibility of everyone including those with disability.

He tasked them to register and obtain their Permanent Voter Card reassuring them that the Office of the Governor on Disability Matters is always open and ready to provide them with the necessary assistance in that regard.

Barrister Ezewuzie reaffirmed that the Obiano led administration has created the enabling environment for persons with disability to be part of all the activities in the state and harped on the need for them to utilize the opportunities.

On the consequence of voter apathy, Barrister Ezewuzie stated that low or non- participation during elections makes manipulation of results possible and easier.

Barrister Ezewuzie, who also spoke on the conflicting court injunctions with regards to Anambra State governorship primary elections, called on the judiciary to maintain its position as the last hope of the common man and expressed hope that justice will be done and normalcy returned to the political atmosphere of Anambra State.
