Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria in Anambra State is seeking more partnerships between it and government for enhanced development.
The group stated this when they visited the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. C Don Adinuba in Awka.
Correspondent Kenechukwu Chukwudi reports that according to the Chairman of the Association, Dr. Joachim Okwuchukwu, the group is made up of thirty professional bodies and noted that synergy between government and professional bodies is important, as relevant professional bodies in the association has always intervened on how to curtail the incessant building collapse, including key advice to government during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Okwuchukwu also explained that the visit was also to intimate the Commissioner on the upcoming investiture of the association on him.
The Commissioner, Mr. Adinuba while receiving the group noted that the government has always partnered professional bodies in the development of the State, including the involvement of core professionals in the cabinet of the Obiano administration.
He pointed out that the construction of an international airport, conference centre and stadium amongst numerous other projects, is a grand testament to the achievements of Governor Willie Obiano, given his professional background.
Members of the association who spoke during the visit, including Sir Ralph Nwike and Mrs. Chisom Uchem, said professionals must come together for the advancement of the society.
