The Chairman of a group routing for the governorship of Professor Chukwuma Soludo, Anambra for Soludo, Chief Jude Emecheta, has described the ruling of the Kano Division of the Appeal Court in favour of Chief Victor Oye led Exco of APGA, as a triumph for democracy.
Speaking in an interview with the ABS in Awka, Chief Emecheta said justice is a necessity for peace and tranquility, adding that the judgment has further entrenched democratic principles in the system.
Chief Emecheta, who is also the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Anambra state Signage and Advertisement Agency, stated that the incumbent Exco of the party cannot be removed without the party’s convention, which he said, can only be convened by the National chairman himself.
According to Chief Emecheta, with the victory, APGA should march on with the campaign, pointing out that Professor Chukwuma Soludo’s emergence at primary election was divine and befitting.
He however said Professor Soludo and Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim project campaign team should extend the olive branch to aggrieved party members and even the opposition parties for a smooth victory at the polls.
On what he expects during the electioneering period, Chief Emecheta noted that Anambra people are not known for politics of bitterness and brigandage.
He however called on all political parties to play maturely and base their campaigns on issues, and not name callings or use of foul languages.
Chief Emecheta expressed optimism that their principal, Professor Soludo will clear the polls, owing to his sound footing and background, and promised that his group, Anambra for Soludo, will embark on intensive campaign to market him in all corners of the state.
