More stakeholders have continued to commend the Appeal Court for overturning the judgment of Jigawa High Court, thereby re-affirming Dr Victor Oye as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA and Professor Chukwuma Soludo as the Party’s  standard bearer for the November sixth Governorship election in Anambra State.
Speaking in Awka, the State Chairman of APGA, Sir Nobert Obi described the Judgment as victory for democracy.
Our man Paul Ezeoke reports that Sir Nobert noted that the Appeal court judgment has restored people’s confidence in the judiciary as the last hope of the common man.
He cautioned politicians against desperate acts capable of threatening the rule of law, electoral guidelines and democratic principles which he pointed out are capable of overheating the polity.
The APGA State Chairman said the party is well prepared for the forthcoming election and will sustain mass mobilization of the electorate to participate actively in the exercise to elect a Governor that will meet the expectations of Ndi Anambra.
He urged the people to resist all forms of inducements and sentiments in their choice of candidate during the election in order not to compromise their mandate and mortgage the future of the State.
Also speaking, the National Patron of Anambra Demand for Professor Soludo, Chief Henry Igboeli commended the appellate court for remaining resolute in the protection of rule of law and democracy.
Chief Igboeli reminded politicians that election is not a do or die affair and expressed satisfaction that people of the State are politically aware and will no longer be easily deceived or misled with empty promises because of the need to further consolidate the level of good governance already recorded.
