Ahead of the November sixth governorship election, women from the twenty-one local government areas of the state have advocated   free, fair and credible elections.

 

The women, who made this known during a peaceful march from Aroma junction, to INEC office in Awka, chanted songs of solidarity in support of  the state government.

 

Correspondent Amaka Chibuzor-Okoye reports that the women carried placards with inscriptions ‘ Anambra is the light of the nation, Anambra is known for royalty, No imposition of candidates by APC among others.

Speaking at the INEC office at Awka, where the women ended their match, the spokesperson, Mrs. Amarachi Obioma said they gathered with one voice to appeal to INEC to follow due process in the forthcoming election by allowing the voice and vote of the people count.

 

Mrs. Obioma, who described women as home builders, said their demands are given top priority in the affairs of the state and the nation at large hence, the reason for the peaceful match to ensure that Anambra State remains calm and stable both before, during and after the election.
