Leaders of Anambra State Association of Town Unions, ASATU, Women Wing have commended the state government for actualizing the vision of a befitting Airport for the state.

 

The women leaders gave the commendations when they joined Governor Willie Obiano on his weekly inspection of the airport.

 

Government House correspondent, Ejike Abana reports that ABS observed that installation of gadgets for the control tower as well as the terminal building is almost ready, while aviation lights installation for the runway is about to be completed.

The fire house building is already standing, as installation of various equipment have commenced, among other improvements.

 

Speaking at Aguleri shortly after the inspection, Governor Obiano who announced that federal government has given eleven oil Wells to Anambra State, said that by next month, Anambra will be named an oil producing state.

The governor  explained that his administration has been pursuing the status of an oil state for a very long time and appreciated God for making it a reality under his watch.

 

Addressing the women, wife of the Governor, Chief Ebelechukwu Obiano recalled that CAFE has built twenty eight houses for twenty eight widows, empowered six thousand, five hundred persons, and promised that the NGO will remain in existence even after their exit from office.

Also speaking ,the member representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, Chief Chinedu Obidigwe, noted that the airport is a plus to the Willie Obiano’s administration and noted that the airport will grow the economy of Anambra State.

 

The Deputy Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Dr Paschal Agbodike said the relative peace that thrives in the State is because of the corporation that exists among the three tiers of government which is why Anambra is progressing in all facets of developments, just as he pointed out that APGA still remains the identity of Ndi Igbo.

The women leaders took turns to shower encomiums on the governor for his numerous efforts in the socio-economic development of Anambra State.

 

Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr Primus Odili and President General of ASATU, Chief Titus Akpudo, were among those that accompanied the governor on the inspection, while the Commissioner for Works, Engineer Marcel Ifejiofor led the tour of the airport inspection.
