In collaboration with the federal government’s efforts to combat corruption and reform the justice system, the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption, ROLAC has completed a training workshop in which a work plan for how to effectively carry out their activities across the state was developed during the final phase of their program in Nigeria.

 

The 2021 ROLAC program, held in Awka, aims at engaging civil society as credible and effective change agents for Nigeria’s sustainable development.

 

In an interview, Mrs Josephine Onah, the Anambra State team leader of ROLAC stated that the work plan for the fifth and final phase of the program has been validated and adopted, and that the program sought to involve those on the demand side in order to help them understand their role in actualizing the plan, which has been making progress over the years of its existence.

 

A ROLAC consultant, Mrs Chibogu Obinwa, noted that the final phase of the program stems from the need to ensure accessible pathways between civil society organizations and government agencies in various components of the justice system, and lauded the Anambra State government for its support to the program.

 

Some of the participants to the programme, including Barrister Chinedu Emmanuel representing Nigeria Bar Association, Onitsha branch and Mrs Onyedilefu Uju, the chairman of Child Protection Network, Anambra State Chapter, commended the ROLAC program for its effective role in the justice system delivering.
