The Ibe family of Ogonogo Village, Nnaku, Nnokwa, Idemili South Council area of Anambra state joined by their in-laws from Oramah family of Umudim village Nnokwa and other in-laws, relatives, friends and well-wishers have paid final respect to their father, uncle, brother father-in-law and grandfather, Late Chief Christopher Ibe.
Late Chief Ibe who was the Ichie Odu of Nnokwa slept in the Lord on third June 2021, at the age of ninety years.
The burial of Chief Ibe, who was the father-in-law of Chief Patrick Oramah attracted notable individuals from within and outside the state, members of Igwe in Council Nnokwa and also featured condolences, musical and masquerade performances.
Imo state governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma was represented by his deputy, Professor Placid Njoku and the PDP governorship candidate for the November sixth Anambra election, Mr Valentine Ozigbo, in company of his running mate, Mrs Azuka Enemuo, sympathized with both the Oramah and the deceased families on the huge loss.
The President of African Export-Import Bank, Afrexim, Professor Benedict Oramah, described the death of Chief Ibe as unfortunate and urged his children to sustain his good legacy.
Chief Patrick Oramah who is the first son in-law of late Chief Ibe said that beyond being his father in-law, the late patriarch was a trusted friend and a principled man who was committed to selfless service to humanity.
He noted that his demise has left a big vacuum in his life and prayed God to grant his soul eternal rest.
For the son of the deceased, Chief Ifeanyi Ibe, their father though lived up to ninety years, was still full of wisdom, courage and love before his demise.
He further expressed his immense gratitude to those that were with them during their moment of grief and prayed God to bless them immensely.
The burial ceremony commenced with a mass at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church Nnokwa, where an indigenous priest, Reverend Father Collins Ogbannu, in a sermon, reminded Christians that death is a necessary end for every mortal and harped on the need for people to keep living Christlike life.
Chief Christopher Ibe is survived by his Wife, Mrs Juliana Ibe, six children, with Mrs Amaka Oramah as the first daughter, twenty-two grandchildren and many other relations.
