Anambra State will on August 27 mark it’s 30th year anniversary since creation in 1991 by the then Military administration of President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida.

Ahead of the event, some critical minds and active players in governance said the State has made giant leaps since it was created alongside Ebonyi, Delta and Enugu.

For the State Head of Service, Barr Harry Udu, Anambra has, under the Obiano administration, moved to enviable heights, especially with the construction of International Cargo and Passenger Airport in Umueri, International Conference Centre and Awka Township Stadium, both in Awka.

He described the projects are landmark achievements that stand the State out among its counterparts in the country.

Barrister Uduh noted that having survived two recessions, the State, under Governor Obiano, had consistently kept its economic profile buoyant and serviced its sectors beyond the imaginations of some critics.

He commended the Governor for keeping faith with Civil servants in the State through timely and consistent payment of salaries.

Describing Civil service as the engine room of every Government, Barrister Udu expressed delight that in spite of the scarce financial resources at its disposal, the Obiano administration recently swore-in eleven new Permanent Secretaries to fortify the service, urging them to justify their new positions.
