It was a sad Wednesday as plateau youths trooped en masse to the Plateau State government house to air their grievances over the killings of loved ones overnight in Yelwa Zangam community in Jos North LGA of the state by gunmen.

It was reported that about 35 people were killed in the fresh attacks and houses were burnt and in some cases with residents still inside.

According to eye witness reports, the attackers infiltrated the community, destroying a connecting bridge that would have assisted the villagers to escape the attacks.

Members of the community cried to the assembly and urged it to liaise with other arms of government to tackle the menace.

Meanwhile, 24 hours curfew has been re-imposed in the state to curb any further insecurity that might occur as a result of the recent killings. The curfew began from 4pm on Wednesday until further notice.
