Five, out of seven Panels of inquiry into various communal crisis in the State have submitted their various reports to the State Government for further action towards enthroning peace in the affected areas.
Correspondent, Emmanuel Okonkwo reports that out  of the two Panels that are yet to submit their report, the Panel of Inquiry on Omor-Umumbo Boundary Crisis, is through with its assignment, but the Chairman was not present to submit the report.
The Panel of Inquiry on Umueri community crisis, which was inaugurated on the second of October, 2020, headed by Justice Chinyelu Anigbogu, is yet to complete its assignment, as it was given additional terms of reference to cover five other communities which include Aguleri, Nando, Nteje, Nsugbe, and Umuoba Anam.
The Panels of Inquiry, whose target was to enthrone peace in the communities involved, handled issues fuelling communal crisis ranging from land dispute to Igweship tussle.
The Panel of Inquiry on Azia Igweship tussle and Omor-Igbakwu boundary crisis were inaugurated on second October, 2019, and headed by Justices Chinyelu Anigbogu, and Justice Veronica Umeh respectively.
And the Panel of Inquiry on Omor-Umumbo boundary crisis, that of Allah-Onugwa, Odekpe communal crisis were inaugurated on the twentieth of May, 2020 and headed by Professor Solomon Ekwenze and the Traditional Ruler of Ukwalla community, Igwe Joseph Ajodo respectively.
Also, Panel of Inquiry on Akili-Ogidi Igweship tussle, and Ifite Nteje land crisis were respectively inaugurated on eleventh June, and twenty-third June, 2020, and headed by the Traditional Ruler of Nteje, Igwe Roland Odegbo and Retired Air Vice Marshal Ben Chiobi.
Handing over the reports, the Chairmen of the Panels thanked the State Government for finding them worthy for the assignment, and stressed the need for the State Government to strictly follow recommendations made in the reports, in order to bring lasting solutions to the affected areas.
Receiving the reports at Government House, Awka, Governor Willie Obiano, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, thanked the groups for their resilience and sacrifices in the course of carrying out their assignments, and for delivering on specifications, and assured that the Government will immediately swing into actions to bring lasting peace in the warring communities.
