Anambra Youths have been urged to reawaken their entrepreneurial spirit, to make the State a global entrepreneurial hub.
The Commissioner for Youth Empowerment and Creative Economy, Professor Theresa Obiekezie, made the call during the celebration of World Entrepreneur Day in Awka.
Professor Obiekezie said that Youths need to be innovative and Creative in finding different ways to face the challenges of COVID-19 pandemic and take advantage of the opportunities it has brought, to successfully embrace the new normal.
The Commissioner also asked Youths to key into all the programmes of the state government through the Ministry of Youth Empowerment and Creative Economy for the development and growth of Anambra state.
She disclosed that the state government through its One Youth One Skill programme has trained more than nine hundred youths in different skills and appreciated Governor Willie Obiano for all his support.
In his presentation, a resource person, Dr Ikechukwu Umeh, lectured the participants on the various ways they can use technology and social media to better their lots in life.
In a vote of thanks, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mrs Louisa Ezeanya, applauded Governor Obiano and the Commissioner, whose support and initiative made the event a reality and charged the Youths to make judicious use of the skills they have acquired.
The theme of the celebration was, “Initiative for Entrepreneurship Innovations, Time to Embrace the New Normal.
Presentation of trade test certificates to the youths and interactive session featured during the event.
