About four hundred delegates will be attending the second session of the Ninth synod of the Anglican Diocese of Nnewi.

The Synod which is taking place at Saint James Church Ichi in Ekwusigo Local Government has its theme as created for Dominion.

according to the Anglican Bishop of Nnewi Diocese Right Reverend Ndubisi Obi who disclosed this during a pre synod Press conference at chapel of Grace Bishops court Nnewi, the Synod will commence this Thursday with the arrival of delegates and opening service as well as courtesy call on the Traditional Ruler of Ichi Community, Igwe Lawrence Okonkwo and foundation laying ceremony at the permanent  site of the Standard Secondary school Ichi and dedication of the chapel of Divine Love, Carol Standard Covent Ichi among others

The Bishop stated that the presidential Address will be presented to the Synod delegates on Saturday fourth September while the Synod will be rounded off on Sunday fifth September with a Thanksgiving service.

Bishop Obi disclosed that the move by the Diocese to make Churches in the area self sustaining is aimed at making them take up projects that will impact on the people.

He noted that this year’s synod of Nnewi Diocese coincided with his two years in office as the Bishop of Nnewi Diocese.

Listing some of his achievements within the two years, Bishop Obi said that the Anglican Diocese of Nnewi places high premium of Education reason why it started training more teachers in all its schools for quality service delivery.

On health Bishop Obi said that the Diocese has the intention to build school of Health technology, in addition to repositioning other health centers In the Diocese to assist Government In its health Care delivery.

He announced the plan by the Diocese to ensure food security, saying that the Diocese has sunk two boreholes at its farm at Ihite Okija to ensure all year round irrigation facility even as he solicited for support in building the Diocese in all ramifications for its enhanced development.

Bishop Obi used the opportunity to appeal to the government to assist the special school for children with autism and other special needs with vehicles stating that such gesture will go a long way in ameliorating some of the needs of the Diocese.
