Federal government has been asked to create an enabling environment for the November sixth Anambra governorship election, and not make plans to favour a particular party.
A former Minister of Information and Culture and National Secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Labaran Maku, gave the advice while interacting with ABS crew at the party headquarters in Abuja.
The APGA scribe noted that it will be an act against Ndi-Anambra to plot to forcefully remove a party that has been working for the people for many years, as according to him, the only preparation for an incumbent Government is to showcase what it has done for the people over the years, insisting that APGA has many of such laudable projects to showcase in Anambra, adding that all over the world, parties are reelected based on performances.
He said Anambra ranks first in economic and infrastructural development, increase in GDP, prevailing peace and security in the Southeast region, and recalled that though the State did not receive bailout funds distributed by the Federal Government, it has been able to sustain good governance through internally generated revenue.
Mr. Maku said as a non-indigene, he is always happy whenever he visits the State because of increasing business activities, peaceful atmosphere and happy vibes he gets on the streets of Anambra cities.
The former Minister noted that Anambra State will soon join the league of what he termed the wonder States in economy if Professor Chukwuma Soludo comes on board with his innovative ideas, in addition to the legacy projects left on ground by the Obiano led APGA administration.
He wondered how highly educated and talented Anambra citizens would opt to gamble with the leadership of the State by electing any other party other than APGA, and cautioned that States that gambled with their leadership are regretting today.
According to him, Anambra has the capacity to give Nigeria a first class economy in the world with the right leadership, insisting that APGA flag bearer has the capacity, which was why President Buhari incorporated him into his economic team, and maintained that the greatest challenge of APGA is how to sustain its 2017 records of twenty-one over twenty-one victory in governorship election.
