The Petroleum Tanker Drivers association of the National union of petroleum and Natural Gas workers has called off its strike.

The senior special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on petroleum and Union matters, Comrade Peter Nwosu disclosed this in an interview with Abuchi Nwozor.

According to comrade Nwosu, the intervention of the Anambra State Government led to the suspension of the strike action by the tanker driver’s association of NUPENG which was done to alleviate the sufferings of Motorists.

Comrade Nwosu who described Governor Willie Obiano as a leader with the interest of the masses at heart called on the people to continue with their support to his administration.

He regretted the hardship Motorists passed through during the period of the Industrial action by the Tanker drivers association of NUPENG.

Comrade Nwosu used the opportunity to reiterate the commitment of the Anambra State Government towards making policies that will improve the living standards of the people.

Recall that the Tanker Drivers association of NUPENG had for the past two weeks gone on strike over a series of misunderstandings, which has led to the recent increase in the pump price of the premium motor spirit otherwise known as petrol.

Following the suspension of the strike action, normal lifting of petroleum products will resume in earnest by the tanker drivers.
