The former Minister of Information during the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan, and the National Secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Mr Labaran Maku, has asked electorates in the state to be ready to cast their votes, and exercise their franchise during the forthcoming November 6, gubernatorial election.

Mr Maku said this while exchanging views with journalists in Awka, the state capital today, Thursday, 23rd September, 2021.

Maku remarked that Anambra state has been lucky with APGA governors over the last 16 years, starting with former Governor Peter Obi, and continued under Governor Willie Obiano.

He asked Ndi Anambra not to gamble with leadership in the state, to avoid throwing up leaders that will slow down the socio-economic development that Anambra state has experienced these past years.

“I am always happy and proud every time I come to Anambra. I have witnessed the development projects embarked upon by Governor Willie Obiano. The Anambra airport project which will be open for commercial operations in October 2021, the Anambra International Convention Centre and the Awka Township Stadium, the 3 flyovers in Awka and in other towns in the state, the light-up Anambra project, the N20M Community Choose-Your -Project initiative, road construction, prompt payment of workers salaries etc, are among the many achievements of the Willie Obiano administration which Ndi Anambra will always remember him for”.

He concluded that Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, the APGA gubernatorial candidate is the best candidate among others vying for the governorship position, to take Anambra state forward as he enjoys a strong international stature, and will be able to attract international development partners, especially with dwindling federal allocations.
