The Old Boys Association of Igwebuike Grammar School Awka, has renovated, furnished, and handed over a five-classroom block to the management of the School.

 

The alumni officially handover the building after it was commissioned at the Igwebuike Grammar School premises in Awka.

 

ABS Correspondent, Amarachukwu Okafor, gathered that this is the not the first time the Old Boys Association of Igwebuike Grammar School, Awka,  embarked on infrastructural upgrade of the School, as the association recently embarked on refencing of the School and gave the entrance gate a facelift, among other projects.

Speaking to the ABS, the National President of Igwebuike Grammar School Old Boys Association, Sir Nnamdi Nwobu, thanked the State Government for the reforms initiated in Education sector, adding that they embarked on the project to complement Government’s efforts in developing infrastructure in Schools in Anambra.

 

Sir Nnamdi further advised other old boys of the School, who are yet to join the association, to come on board and help in restoring the old glory of the institution.

In  separate interviews, the Senior Prefect of 1979 set, Mr. Osita Agbata, a member of the Old Boys Association, Reverend Dr. Onyii Bosah, and a representative of Igwebuike Grammar School Old Boys Association, United Kingdom Chapter, Dr Ugo Chinwuba, said dilapidated infrastructure in their alma mater necessitated the prompt intervention, adding that they are happy to see the completion of the project and intend making their association the most pragmatic and forward looking partner in the school’s development history.

 

The Principal of the School, Mr. Jovita Arazu, thanked the Old Boys Association for taking up the responsibility of elevating the school to a greater height.
