The Director of the National Orientation Agency in Anambra State Mr Charles Nworji has called on Ndi Anambra to participate actively in the November sixth governorship election to secure the State’s economy.

Mr Nworji a lawyer made the call during a seminar on Anambra election organized by the Rotary Club of Awka Central in conjunction with National Orientation Agency, with the theme: “Rotary Promoting Peace Through Citizens Participation in Elections; the Roles of INEC And Civic Responsibilities of Citizens; a Case Study of Anambra Gubernatorial Election”.

Correspondent, Emmanuel Okonkwo reports that the seminar exposed the participants to their roles as peace promoters and public servants especially as it concerns the sensitization of people of the State on the need to come out en-masse to vote for candidates of their choice during the November election.

Mr Nworji while regretting the poor participation of Ndi Anambra in previous elections in the State, emphasized that inactive of electorates in elections gives room for assumption of power by incompetent leaders.

In a remark, the President Rotary Club of Awka Central, Rotarian Onyekachi Iruka advised people of the State to shun violence and vote for credibility and competence.

Guest Speaker at the event and INEC Election Manager, Mrs Ugonma Lechukwu encouraged the public to get and preserve their Permanent Voter’s Card describing it as the citizens’ power to decide their leaders.
