Anambra Broadcasting Service has re-assured the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund UNICEF of sustained partnership.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the establishment Dr Uche Nworah gave the assurance in Enugu during a one-day Media Executive parley on child rights influenced reporting on COVID-19.
Dr Nworah who was represented on the occasion by the UNICEF Desk Officer Mrs Franca Maduike described UNICEF as a dedicated agency which places high premium on rights of women and children.
He promised UNICEF of more effective and strong collaborations especially in making the people know more about its programmes.
According to Dr Nworah, Anambra Broadcasting Service has various platforms through which the people can know about its programme contents and effective news delivery saying that through these platforms and channels the people especially the youths can be properly sensitized on the importance on COVID-19 vaccine
In a Speech, the UNICEF Enugu field officer Dr Ibrahim Kahlil Conteh represented by Dr Olusoji Akinleye, expressed appreciation to the Media partners for their assistance.
He noted that early in 2020 Nigeria recorded its index case of the COVID-19 virus like other parts of the world which is still ravaging and depleting the world’s major population.
He emphasized the important role of the Media in the fight against COVID-19.
The Director-General of the Broadcasting Corporation of Abia State, Mr Anyaso Anyaso represented by Mr Nkpa Okezie, UNICEF Desk Officer Abia State commended the media Executives from different locations and UNICEF for their humanitarian services especially in women and children.
