Governor Willie Obiano has tasked journalists on objective and factual reportage of his achievements.

Governor Obiano gave the charge when he toured the Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport, Umueri and International Convention Center, Awka.

Government House Correspondent, Ejike Abana reports that the governor was acompanied by  the new Commissioner of Police in the State, Mr. Echeng Echeng, members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, and the Radio Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union, RATTAWU, Anambra state.

They were received at the project sites by the Commissioner for Works, Engineer Marcel Ifejiofor and his Housing counterpart, Architect Mike Okonkwo who gave a tour of the facilities.

The new Commissioner of Police who was earlier received by the Governor, was part of the visit to access the security situation of some locations in the state.

The tour took them to the airport runway, terminal building, tarmac, fire station, trauma center among others as well as the foyer, main auditorium and other components of the Convention Center.

Speaking later at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, the governor asked journalists to report the projects he did as against unconstructive criticism without observing the ethics of the profession, pointing out that by God’s grace, he will hand over governance of Anambra State at the International Convention Center and emphasized that he did not borrow to finance the projects, unlike other states who collected bail out funds.

He enumerated other projects achieved by his administration and noted that Professor Chukwuma Soludo has a name to protect like himself, which is why he is supporting him.

The Vice President of NUJ, South East Zone, Comrade Emma Ifesinachi said that having toured the projects, Governor Obiano’s good heart have been made bare, just as the Chairman of RATTAWU, ABS Chapter, Comrade Maureen-stone Enujioke used the opportunity to mention the face-lift the governor has been able to bring to ABS, making it a pride in the South East region.

Others who spoke including Mr Okey Maduforo of New Telegraph Newspaper, Chairperson of NAWOJ, Mrs. Frankline Onyekachi and Dr. Dennis Ekemezie described the project as outstanding and commended the Governor, noting  that history will judge him fairly.
