It was a moment of joy and merriment for members and family of Unique Fellows All Nations Club during its get together and installation of its sixth Mayor.

Correspondent Kenechukwu Chukwudi reports that friendship is indispensable in life and the worth of a friend is tested during difficult and challenging times, apart from being a socialization ground and it was perhaps on this ground that the Unique Fellows All Nations Club came into existence, as the club is made up of elites from different professional background.

Speaking at the event, the outgoing Mayor of the group, Professor Tony Nwokoye noted that the club has been on a constant growth since its inception urging members to contribute to its growth and by extension the growth of the country especially with the economic down turn.

The former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Awka Branch, and a member of the club, Mr Gabriel Moneke noted that the club came into existence through the effort of like minds seeking true friendship and also an avenue to pool resources together and help the needy while also being there for themselves in times of merry and sorrow.

In his acceptance speech, the sixth Mayor of the group, Professor Francis Enemouh explained that the group has well defined aim and objectives, including assisting the less privileged, as every member of the club stands out in their own way and  keep moving forward with one mind.

Mr Nnamdi Anagor, a guest at the event, commended the group for its uniqueness through their individual and collective contributions to the society, urging government to invest more on education and empowerment to help the youth populace and keep them focused.

 

The Vice President of Radio Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union RATTAWU, Prince Emeka Kalu of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, who received award for media and humanitarian services, thanked the group for finding him worthy for such an honour and encouraged  youths to  be hardworking and prayerful in other to surmount challenges before them while another award recipient, Mr Uchenna Ajator a lawyer who received a Stallion Fellow award, expressed gratitude for the honour, which he said will encourage him to do more, advising youths to be responsible and add value to their immediate environment and society at large.

The event also witnessed induction of new members.
