The National Leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Governor Willie Obiano has identified APGA as the only party that is currently embarking on open air campaign , noting that the massive turn out of voters has portrayed the party as one with grassroots mobilization.
Governor Obiano stated this when the APGA campaign train visited Ogbaru Local Government Area in an open air campaign, held at Central School, Atani.
Government House Correspondent Ejike Abana reports that the governor was accompanied on the campaign tour by the APGA gubernatorial flag-bearer, Professor Chukwuma Soludo and his running mate, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, among others.
While disclosing that out of the fifteen oil wells released by the federal government to Anambra State Government, eight are in Ogbaru Council Area, Governor Obiano assured that once the thirteen percent derivation begins to come, the host communities will certainly benefit more and appealed to them to vote for the APGA candidate for sustainability.
The former Senator that represented Anambra Central At the National Assembly, Chief Victor Umeh pointed out that the impressive turn out of the electorate has demonstrated their commitment to the Soludo and Ibezim movement, noting that it is the nineteenth year they are embarking on such journey under APGA platform.
While emphasizing that APGA remains the voice of Ndigbo, Senator Umeh said that there are verifiable facts that APGA has been at the fore-front of development of Anambra State, noting that APGA has set a high standard, hence the choice of Professor Soludo, who will potentially do better than Governor Obiano.
On his part, the member representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, Chief Chinedu Obidigwe and the Director General of the APGA Campaign, who is also the Secretary to the state government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu said that what is needed is someone with the requisite experience to lead a complex state like Anambra, tasking them on protecting their votes after voting on November sixth.
Presenting his manifesto, Professor Soludo, accompanied by Dr. Ibezim said that this is the time for Ndigbo to prove that APGA truly belongs to them and emphasized that Ndigbo through the APGA platform have a strong voice.
While emphasizing that his government will build on the foundation laid by Governor Obiano, Professor Soludo enumerated his plans, especially as it relates to the ares which are targeted at population of all ages and social strata.
While assuring that they will support Professor Soludo candidacy, the Transition Committee Chairman for Ogbaru Council Area, Mr. Arinze Awogu maintained that the present government remembered the sixteen communities in Ogbaru, especially in disbursement the two trenches of twenty-million-naira community choose your project initiative and prayed that Professor Soludo’s good plans for Ogbaru people will be achieved.
For the Special Adviser to Governor Obiano on Farm Implements, Mr. Paul Nwosu, who hails from the area, Ogbaru is now an oil producing local government area, courtesy of Governor Obiano’s intervention.
