The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, faithful in the ten towns of Nnewi South Local Government Area have flagged off political campaign, where they unanimously adopted Professor Chukwuma Soludo and his running mate, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim as their candidates.

The National Leader and member, Board of Trustees of APGA, Governor Willie Obiano, led other party faithful to Central School Ukpor, which had  supporters of the party in attendance.

Government House Correspondent, Ejike Abana, reports that speaking at the campaign ground, Governor Obiano recalled that the people of the area massively voted for him during his second term election, asking them to vote for Professor Soludo.

Governor Obiano pointed out that Professor Soludo has what it takes to source for funds with which to work for ndi Anambra, especially at  this period of global economic uncertainty.

Contributing, former National Chairman of APGA, Senator Victor Umeh, explained that while serving as the National Chairman of the party, he worked with the late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, who insisted that Ndigbo rally round and use APGA as a front to make their voice heard in the scheme of things in Nigeria.

Senator Umeh stressed that one of the ways to realize that mission is to ensure that the APGA candidate in Anambra election emerges as Governor, after which they will continue disseminating the message to other Igbo-speaking States, adding that Professor Soludo has the strong pedigree to lead a complex State like Anambra.

Also speaking, the member representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Chief Chinedu Obidigwe, recalled that Governor Obiano sanitized the State by entrenching security on assumption of office, emphasizing that voting for Professor Soludo will deepen peace in the State, and stressed that Anambra is known for sterling performances, which he said, Professor Soludo will sustain.

On his part, Professor Soludo, who asked the people to come out and vote, emphasized that votes must count, and praised the people of Nnewi South for supporting the party all the while, saying that APGA is a rebirth of the old NCNC party during the Zikist movement and belongs to ndi Igbo.

He promised to continue from where the Governor will stop, assuring that he will consolidate APGA as a cooperative movement for the good of all.

The member representing Nnewi South Constituency One, at the State House of Assembly, Honourable Sunny Ozobia, who said that he cannot be bought over by another party because his feet are deeply rooted in APGA, called on his constituents to start embarking on house-to-house campaign ahead of the election.

The Transition Committee Chairman of Nnewi South Local Government Area, Engineer Chieloka Okoye, enumerated the good works of the Governor in the ten towns in the area, including erosion control in Ezinifite, two tranches of the community choose-your-project initiative, among others, pleading with Professor Soludo not to forget the people of Nnewi South if he assumes office, assuring him of overwhelming votes.

At the event, Barrister Egwuoyibo Okoye decamped to the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
