The Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on Agriculture, Mrs. Theresa Okoye says Governor Obiano’s agricultural revolution is unprecedented.
Mrs. Okoye who disclosed this while speaking to the ABS in Awka said that the Governor’s strides in the agricultural sector has brought about economic viability, food sufficiency and security in the State.
The Special Assistant who is also the Anambra state Cordinator for Community Farm Development Programme in the twenty-one Local Government Areas of the State, said that they act as an intermediary between the farmers and Government to help the farmers do their businesses with ease, as well as do proper cultivation at any given time.
She equally noted that they help in ensuring that farmers access loans and grants from both the State and Federal governments and also give some of the farmers, especially the cooperatives agricultural equipment.
Mrs. Okoye urged the would be governor that will succeed Governor Obiano to sustain the Obiano’s agricultural revolution for food sufficiency and betterment of the farmers, as agriculture remains the bedrock of every nation.
