The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uche Okafor, has built new four classroom blocks for Ataka Migrant Fishermen School, Umerum in Ayamelum Local Government Area.
House of Assembly Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim, reports that the project has been commissioned and handed over to the school management for use.
Speaking before commissioning the classrooms, Right Honourable Okafor explained that the project is the fulfillment of the promise he made to the school during his campaign days, and that it will enhance teaching and learning in the area.
The Speaker, who expressed gratitude to Governor Willie Obiano for providing the resources with which the project was executed, assured that more of such projects will come to the people if they remain supportive of the APGA government in Anambra State.
In her remark, the Headmistress of the school, Mrs. Ifeoma Anaebelu, who disclosed that non availability of adequate classrooms has been affecting effective teaching and learning in the school, thanked the speaker for coming to their aid.
The Traditional ruler of Umerum, Igwe Christopher Ndibe, announced that the community has benefited a lot from the Obiano administration, assuring that they will vote massively for APGA in the November sixth governorship election; in appreciation for the good jobs the Governor did for them.
The President General of Umerum Town Union, Mr. Ebubechukwu Onuora, said the community has enjoyed quality representation from Right Honourable Okafor, and assured that they will take full ownership of the project to prevent vandalism, while the Regent of the community, Chief Alphonsus Ofumelu, stated that Umerum has witnessed relative peace and security under the Obiano administration, and called on the people to give hundred percent vote to APGA in the coming governorship election so the community will continue to enjoy dividends of democracy.
