The Anambra Elders and Stakeholders’ Forum for Good Leadership has called on Ndi Anambra to come out en-mass to exercise their franchise and enthrone good governance on November sixth poll.

The National President of the group, Justice Anthony Iguh made the call during a visit to Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Cooperate Headquarters in Awka in company of some members of the organization.

Correspondent Emmanuel Okonkwo reports that Justice Iguh, a retired Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, who spoke through the chairman, Board of Trustees of the association, Justice Alpha Ikpeama said it is imperative that people of the state jointly decide, who takes over the governorship position in the state next month, by coming out to vote for candidates of their choice.

On his part, the National Secretary, Anambra Elders and Stakeholders Forum for Good Leadership, Pastor Michael Obierike disclosed that the group has been meeting with major players in the forthcoming Anambra election, including security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in a view to ascertaining their level of preparedness towards ensuring peaceful, free and fair election on November sixth.

Contributing, the Assistant National Secretary of the organization, Professor Donald Okoli observed that if the election is boycotted, the federal government will take actions that will negatively affect people of the state, hence the need for the people to sheath  their sword and allow the election to hold.

He then urged the INEC and security agencies to work assiduously to ensure tight security on the election day, and also to make sure that no electorate is disenfranchised.
