The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA continued its local government open air tour with visit to Ayamelum Council Area of the state.

Government House Correspondent, Ejike Abana reports that Ifite-Ogwari Community hosted the campaign train led by the party’s National Leader and Chairman, Board of Trustees, Governor Willie Obiano who were received by a mammoth crowd of supporters.

The Party’s Standard Bearer, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, his running mate, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Oye, former National Chairman of the party, Senator Victor Umeh, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Right Honourable  Uchenna Okafor, Member representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, Chief Chinedu Obidigwe and all Traditional Rulers in the area, among others, attended the function.

Addressing the crowd, Governor Obiano who reminded ndi Ayamelum of the need to vote for Professor Soludo, said that one of the targets of his administration has always been to make Ayamelum to become the largest producer of rice in Nigeria, assuring that the APGA candidate will consolidate his achievements on achievements recorded so far.

Receiving the campaign train, Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uchenna Okafor recalled that APGA is the only party that has ever remembered them, pointing out that the party has remained synonymous with peace and progress.

Right  Honourable  Okafor maintained that Governor Obiano’s administration brought about agricultural revolution in the state which he said started in Ayamelum, emphasizing that a vote for APGA is a vote for  himself as their son.

On his part, the National Chairman of APGA, Chief  Victor Oye expressed optimism that APGA will win eighty percent of the total votes cast in the area just as the Former National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Umeh stated that from the large turn out, APGA has come to stay in Ayamelum.

In their separate reactions, the Commissioner for Indigenous Artworks, Culture and Tourism, Dr. Ken Anierobi and the Transition Committee Chairman for Ayamelum Council Area, Barrister Benjamin Onyeabo pointed out that Governor Obiano touched all communities in the area and asked Ndi Ayamelum to mobilze for APGA to ensure fulfilment of promises to them.

The Member representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, Chief Chinedu Obidigwe, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Primus Odili, among others attended the event which featured colourful cultural performance
