The people of Orumba North and South Council Areas say continuity of government under the All Progressives Grand Alliance party is fundamental in sustaining delivery of good governance to Ndi Anambra.
People from Communities and wards in the areas trooped out enmass at Umunze and Ajalli, to show solidarity with the APGA Flagbearer, Professor Chukwuma Soludo and his running mate, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim.
Government House Correspondent, Ejike Abana reports that the National Leader and Board of Trustees Chairman of the party, Governor Willie Obiano led party faithful and supporters to the venues.
According to Governor Obiano, Professor Soludo is the best among the candidates and has managerial skills as well as knows how to source fund to boost state revenue base , expressing optimism that he will leverage on his legacies, to perform better than he did.
Regarding the recent anti-open grazing law in the state, Governor Obiano said that against general belief, the law cannot be repelled because APGA has the majority at the state House of Assembly.
The National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Oye in his speech said that the Soludo brand is the best among other candidates in this election, noting that electronic voting and bimodal machines will not give room for rigging of the election, just as Former National Chairman of APGA, Senator Victor Umeh recalled that in 2003, Orumba South Local Government Area gave fifteen thousand votes to APGA, after which the party has been winning in the area, emphasizing that it is only APGA that will be vocal to the Igbo agenda and heart desire.
Former Member that represented Orumba North and South Federal Constituency for three consecutive times, Chief Ben Nwankwo, pointed out that Governor Obiano has placed a benchmark of good governance and brought humility to governance of Anambra state which is why they will pay back with their votes, noting that other parties are still embarking on membership drive which was what APGA did many years ago.
The member representing Orumba South Constituency at the State House of Assembly, Honourable Emma Nwafor and member representing Orumba North at the State House of Assembly, Honourable Emeka Aforka assured that they would ensure APGA records total in Orumba North and South .
Responding, APGA Flagbearer, Professor Soludo, thanked APGA and the governor for abiding to the agreement that power will rotate to the South, assuring that he has plans to develop agriculture in the area, open up Owerri-Ezukalla cave , embark on road projects in addition to other things.
Earlier, the Transition Committee Chairman, Orumba South Council Area, Mr Cyril Okereke and his counterpart in Orumba North, Mrs Ify Obinabo, while declaring that governor Obiano is finishing on strong note, revealed that there are many notable projects recorded by his administration.
In attendance were the Director General of APGA Campaign, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, Former Deputy Governor, Emeka Sibudu and Director of Operations in the APGA Campaign, Chief Chinedu Obidigwe, Mr. Thankgod Ibeh, Dr. Foster Okoye, among others.
