The National Youth Council of Nigeria, Anambra State Chapter, has endorsed the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in the November sixth governorship election, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, to succeed Governor Willie Obiano.
Correspondent, Valentine Mbadugha reports that the State chapter of the apex youth organization in Nigeria made the endorsement at an event held in Awka, the State capital.
Addressing participants, the Chairman National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Anambra State chapter, Comrade Samuel Egwuatu stated that youths of Anambra state want a leader who will help in securing a brighter future for the youths and generations to come.
He expressed satisfaction with Professor Soludo’s policies and programmes geared towards youth development and empowerment, and assured that Anambra youths will him maximum total support.
Comrade Egwuatu encouraged Anambra youths to participate actively in the coming election to help enthrone a government that will continue the transformation of the State.
In his remark, Professor Soludo appreciated the youths for the bold and courageous move they made, and promised to partner with the youths in running his government if elected.
He maintained that the November sixth governorship election must hold under a peaceful atmosphere, and tasked the youths to sustain mobilization and sensitization of electorate on the need to come out and vote for APGA.
Restating his commitment towards building more vibrant youths, Professor Soludo explained that his policy framework is more of job creation and youth empowerment, which he said will reduce crime rate and increase productivity, economic growth and development of the State.
The event climaxed with a solidarity song for Soludo and Ibezim by the youths.
