Wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Dr (Mrs) Ebelechukwu Obiano has rounded off her 2021 Local Government Tour, with over ten thousand indigent persons supported in the two-week long activity.

Dr (Mrs) Obiano, who began this year’s visit on Tuesday, 12 October, 2021, alongside wife of the candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in the November sixth governorship election in Anambra State, Mrs Nonye Soludo, is bringing to end a routine she has held consistently for more than seven years.

The LGA visit is the brainchild of the Anambra State Ministry of Social Welfare, Children and Women Affairs, in collaboration with the Caring Family Enhancement Initiative, CAFE, a charity organization founded by the governor’s wife in August, 2014.

Addressing people from Awka South and Ogbaru Local Government Areas, the last two LGAs on the tour schedule, Dr (Mrs) Obiano said that she bears deep compassion for the less privileged in Anambra State, insisting that they have also helped her programs by making themselves available to her charity objective.

Reminding them that her husband’s tenure would soon run down, the governor’s wife said that Mrs Soludo has already been groomed to continue from where she would stop and even go on to do better, stating that she would never forget those in need as far as she lives as it is not just her way of life but a divine calling.

On next week’s election, Dr (Mrs) Obiano asked the electorate to go out on the day and cast their votes for APGA, reassuring them that adequate security would be provided for safety.

On her part, wife of the APGA candidate in the November sixth poll, Mrs Soludo, reassured that she would carry everyone along in her activities if her husband wins, urging Anambra women to vote for APGA as their votes represent a better future for the Anambra child.

The Anambra State Commissioner for Social Welfare, Children and Women Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue and the Executive Secretary of Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, Dr Simeon Onyemaechi, in their speeches, said that every of CAFE’s outreaches would remain etched in the hearts of the people long after the exhaustion of Governor Obiano’s term.

In their separate remarks, the Transition Committee Chairman of Awka South Local Government Area, Mr Leo Nwuba and his Ogbaru counterpart, Mr Arinze Awogu, said that Dr (Mrs) Obiano has has used the charity blueprints to successfully aid the administrative breakthroughs of her husband, Chief Willie Obiano, and expressed hope that her successor would do even better.

The deputy chairman of APGA, Anambra State, Chief Tony Eleh, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Liaison, Barrister Vera-Queen Okonkwo, among others equally attended the event.

The governor’s wife also gave palliative to the indigent, aged and physically challenged from the two local government areas.
